My Story
If it was easy.. everyone would do it
Hi! My name is Brandon Haughton and I am the CEO of BBallDream.com. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD and that is where I fell in love with basketball. Growing up, I didn't have a trainer or gym membership to work on my game. My trainers were Shaq, MJ, Magic, AI and all the NBA players I watched on tv. I played ball on the blacktop and rec centers. I was blessed to play AAU with Cecil Kirk (MD) and was able to travel the US and go to cities I only had dreamed of. This lead me to attend Lake Clifton HS which was known for basketball. In my senior year, I was blessed to help Coach Herman Harried win his first state title in 1999.
Senior year goes by and I didn't have a single offer. Mostly due to academics. Two weeks before graduation, coach Harried connected me with a JUCO in West Virgina called Potomac State College where I decided to play. As a freshmen, I helped lead my team to a league title while defeating the #1 team in the country. Two months before school starts, I got my first offer from Head Coach Chris Jans (currently- New Mexico State, Head ) of JUCO powerhouse Howard College (TX). I was blind sided but I knew this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I accepted the offer from Howard and took on the role of being a lockdown defender where I had a great year. I graduated in the spring of 2001 and again didn't have any offers but still loved the game. I found myself in a tough spot not knowing what the future was going to hold. I remember sitting in my living room at home and received a phone call from Portland States assistant coach Dedrique Taylor (currently Cal State Fullerton, Head) . A few weeks later, I went on a official visit and met Head Coach Heath Schroyer (currently McNeese State, Head), Assistant Coach Steve Gosar (Former JUCO National Coach of the Year at College of Southern Idaho), Assistant Coach Barret Peery (Currently Portland State, Head) and they offered me a full scholarship! I wasnt sure at first but they made me feel like family so I joined their team.

In June 2004, I graduated from PSU and was the first to earn a degree in my intermediate family. Fast forward 11 years later, I was a high school boys assistant coach at Lincoln HS, Westview (football/basketball) and was named Head Coach at Catlin Gabel all in Oregon. It was in 2015, where I came up with BBallDream.com. My purpose of this website is to give all youth and JUCO players and opportunity to create a profile and have it seen by coaches for free. This is my way of giving back to all youth following in my footsteps!
