Rahim Tufts is entering his third year as head coach of Sherwood HS. Last season, Bowmens finished with a 13-12 overall record, finish 5th in a tough Three Rivers League and ranked #28 OSAA. Sherwood graduated eight seniors including All League performers Nic Koronko and Billy Hale. Below, Head Coach Rahim Tufts gave me an insight on his thoughts of the upcoming season and joining a new league below. What are your thoughts on your new league? The new league is going to be super competitive. We have a great group of coaches that put their teams in positions to be successful year in and year out. I'm excited to compete with "like" schools...schools that are similar in demographics as us. Newberg, Mac, FG and us are all (one high school towns), and then we have the Hillsboro schools as well. It's going to be a lot of fun. Which players are you leaning on to carry your team this year? We have a few upperclassmen that have really improved and grown into their leadership roles. A couple that are going to be huge for us: Braden Thorn 6'5" Senior Tyler Hix 6'2" Senior Jamison Guerra 5'10" Junior One word that defines your team? why? Energetic. We want to be one of the most energetic teams in the state. We can control that. We feel like our energy makes a huge difference in how successful we are. What’s your team goal? To get better every single day. To put ourselves in a position to be in the top 3 in our new league which would put us in the playoffs.
