Amity can run, man. Ball movement was great, pressure on defense got home, and the interior defense held strong enough to force the Knights into a heavily perimeter based offense. Progression from game one to game three is obvious on the Amity side.
The Nisly twins, freshmen, are going to be something special. Though combined they only scored 15 points tonight, their facilitation of the offense and leading of the 1-2-1-1 press, dropping into a 1-3-1 zone in the half court, is a big reason for Amity’s 2-1 record coming out of the first week. There is a ton of youth in the rotation, including freshman Alyssa McMullen and sophomore Mya Harsma, but there’s a lot to like here.
De La Salle looks like a playoff team. Shooters Tia Williams and Jayda Lee can produce enough offense on their own to win the Knights a lot of games, and post Liv Jones defensively in the paint can contribute enough to win some games on her own as well. Not impossible to see the Knights hosting in the first round of the playoffs because of a league title win. Depth might be an issue, but definitely a team to keep an eye on.
