De La Salle Head Coach James Brodaus II Monday, June 14, 2021 , Westside Christian will host De La Salle North Catholic at 1:30pm. This is the most important game of this short season. This game will “prematurely” determine who will get there ticket punched for the Elite 8.
Here are 2 key reasons why “ALL EYES ARE ON THIS GAME”:
The winner of this game will be in the driver seat for league title. League champs gets an automatic bid into the Elite 8. Both teams has two games left on there schedule. WC has HC and Riverdale, while DLS has Riverdale and Catlin. Whoever wins will still need to win one out of the final two games remaining to punch there ticket to the Elite 8. Can Riverdale or Catlin play spoiler?
If De La Salle loses to WC and wins the last two games, then DLS will have a 12-1 and will be a candidate for an at large bid. Question for voters, Is this enough to earn an at large bid over Dayton, Amity or YC? 🤷🏾♂️ Only time will tell.
If Westside can pull off the upset, this would be one for the ages. De La Salle has won the last seven league titles and not looking to hand it over easily. Westside is on a four game winning streak, including a huge win over PAA, which ultimately lead them to this very moment. Look for high flying junior Jaymeson Ye to take flight and try and lead WC to the upset.
De La Salle (along with Cascade Christian) are still undefeated and looking to keep that streak alive. Head Coach James Brodaus II is no stranger to success and will be counting on All State senior Ubedi McGautha to help lead his team to victory.
