The time has come! No more “Yoda, If the state tourney started today”, its time to step up and make winning plays. Which teams will rise to the occasion? Who will be the “Unsung Hero” for there team? Will there be anymore upset on the final day? Welp, all those answer will be answered today!
The last two weeks alone, 3A has been a roller coaster for a lot of teams. Upsets happened in almost every league! Here are some examples;
YC defeats #3 Dayton
PAA defeats #2 De La Salle
St. Mary’s defeats #6 CC and #8 Sutherlin to win league title
Riverside defeats #10 Nyssa
My point is ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN this year from now until championship Saturday in Coos Bay!
Breakdown of today’s games:
Yamhill-Carlton vs Amity 1pm Central HS
All eyes are on this game! Including Santiam Christian!
Head Coach Heather Roberts and her young studs are playing there best basketball but need to do it one more time against a tough Amity team. They are in control of there own destiny to go to state and in a lot of people minds they deserve it.
Plain and simple:
If YC wins they are IN.
If YC lose then it’s up to the computer rankings if they get in.
Amity will still get a home game even if they lose.
District Titles are on the line for each games below:
Riverside vs Umatilla 2:30 Eastern Oregon U
If Umatilla wins, they will move to #8 and have a home game in the First Round.
If Umatilla lose, then they will need YC to lose and hope the computers rankings help them to be a At Large Team.
If Riverside wins, they will be in the State Playoffs and possibly a home game if they can move in the Top 16. They are currently 17.
Warrenton vs Rainer 7pm at McMinnville HS

If Rainer wins, they will get an automatic home game in the first round. If Rainer lose, they will be on the road for the first round.
If Warrenton wins, they are still a road team because they will not finish in the Top 16.
Salem Academy vs Dayton 5pm Central HS

No matter the outcome, both teams will host in the first round.
OES vs De La Salle at 6pm Wilson HS
Congrats to both teams for making the State Tournament!
The winner of this game will get an automatic home game.
If OES lose, they will be on the road for the first round.
If De La Salle lose, they will still host in the first round.
