Final Score: Cascade Christian 76 Coquille 41
Coquille isn’t a power, but they aren’t a pushover. Cascade Christian just has immense talent.
Coquille did some good things–not getting dominated on the boards, not getting dominated in the turnover differential, creating good shots–but ultimately Cascade Christian just had a depth and balance the Red Devils couldn’t handle.
Even without Austin Maurer on the floor the entire second half, Cascade Christian still grew their lead and didn’t allow Coquille any sizable runs. Between Payton Maurer (9 points), Cannon Anderson (20 points), and Drew Hall (21 points) there were simply too many holes to plug defensively and too little lanes offensively for Coquille to make any meaningful push.
Remove Payton Maurer off the floor, only use the second half as reference, this was still a lopsided afair.
Zak Farmer is a player, Hunter Layton can do some damage, but it’s hard to overstate just how much Cascade Christian throws off the mean when evaluating the Far West League in general.
